CBSE Compartment (Supplementary) Exams 2024: Key Information for Class 10 and 12 Students

Who can appear for the compartment (supplementary) exams?

Class 10: Students who failed in one or two subjects and passed all others are eligible. Students who passed but want to improve their scores in up to two subjects can also appear (improvement of performance category). Class 12: Students who passed the main exams but want to improve their score in one subject are eligible (improvement of performance category). Passed students who failed in only one subject can also appear in the compartment exam to pass.

Exam Timings

Most Class 10 exams: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM Class 10 Computer Applications & IT: July 22nd, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Class 12 (all subjects except listed below): July 15th, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM Class 12 (Hindustani Music, Painting, Dance subjects, Commercial Art, Yoga, AI): July 15th, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Additional Points

The syllabus for the compartment exam is the same as the main exams held in March and April 2024. Schools need to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) through the Exam Sangam link for students to participate in the exam. Students will get 15 minutes of reading time before the exam begins, similar to the regular CBSE board exams.

Results

The CBSE board has not yet announced the date for the declaration of the compartment exam results. However, based on past trends, the results can be expected by the end of July 2024.
